This course was designed for the recreational canyoneer and is considered Intermediate Level. 

Prerequisite:  Intro to Canyoneering or Instructor approval

  • Sequencing on Marginal Anchors
  • Setting Rope Length
  • Rope First / Bag First
  • Single Rope Syetems
  • Double Rope Systems(toss n go)
  • Twin Rope System (Clipped Block, Stone Knot, Butterfly)
  • Releasable Twin Rope Systems (Joker, Jester)
  • Top Rope Belays
  • Static and Contingency Rigging
  • Drop Loop 2:1
  • Traverse Lines
  • Rope Deployment, Coiling, Bagging and Etiquette
  • Discuss Swift Water Hazards
  • Specialized Rappelling Techniques (Hard Starts, Soft Starts, Free-Hanging, Over-Hanging, etc)

Gear requirements:

Basic Personal gear is required for this course: Harness, helmet, rappel device, safety tether, multiple locking carabiners, multiple slings. Please wear sturdy shoes or boots. Equipment available for use / purchase if needed contact instructor prior.

Classes are outdoors so dress according to weather. Sturdy shoes required. Pack a lunch and bring plenty of water.

$100 deposit required within 3 days of course.
